Spanish Marjoram, Thymus mastichina, is a plant of the Thyme family. It grows wild in the Algarve, for distilling the essential oil we use the leaveas and flowering parts.
The essential oil helps with the treatment of respiratory problems.

Seelentröster
Opa greift in die Hosentasche und drückt ein braunes Bonbon in die kleine Hand.
Schnell verschwindet das klebrige Süß im Mündchen über das eben noch die Tränen gelaufen sind und das Gesichtchen hellt sich wieder auf.
Warm, kräuterig und mild steigt dieser Duft in die Nase und direkt in die Seele.
Er sagt, dass alles wieder heil werden wird, wie ein ganzer Garten voller kräftiger Heilkräuter.
Auch hier trägt diese Fonte Penedo typische karamellig honigduftende Wärme die mediterrane Duftnote, die mehr als nur ein Kraut ahnen lässt.
Dieser Macchia Thymian ist nichts für Pizzen, sondern für meine Seele und meine Atemwege, wenn sie sich nach Trost und Linderung und dem Hustensaft aus meiner Kindheit sehnen. Mmmmmh!
